چکیده

Abstract Biocompatible hydrogels of polyvinylpyrrolidone (PVP) with tannic acid (TA) in the weight ratios 1 : 0.70 (70 %)–1 0.60 (60 %) were prepared and loaded antifungal drug, nystatin (NYS). The hydrogel is expected to exhibit a two‐fold (anti‐bacterial anti‐fungal) characteristics. Infrared spectroscopy (IR), viscometry differential scanning calorimetry (DSC) used investigate interactions between PVP TA. In vitro release kinetics NYS simulated body fluid (SBF) sweat (SS) studied using ultra‐violet (UV) high‐performance liquid chromatography (HPLC). An increase glass transition temperature (T g ) accompanied changes observed OH stretching, C=O C−O−C regions IR spectrum dried PVP/TA suggested physical crosslinking. swelling distilled deionized water (DDW), SBF SS decreased increasing TA concentration showed pH sensitivity. followed Korsmeyer‐Peppas kinetic model regardless media while Hixson‐Crowell cube root law respectively. was active against Escherichia coli Staphylococcus aureus Candida albicans . Tannic Acid Effects on Hatching of Heterodera glycines in Vitro.

Effects of tannic acid on hatching of Heterodera glycines eggs were determined in vitro using three batches of eggs obtained from greenhouse cultures in Florida or from naturally infested field soil in Minnesota. A quadratic model fits the percentage egg hatch. Hatch increased with increasing tannic acid concentrations from 0 to about 39 mg/liter, then declined with further increases in concent...

The hepatocarcinogenicity of tannic acid.

In the group of chemical hepatocarcinogenic agents, the number of which has steadily increased in recent years (:$7), tannic acid deserves attention. Owing to its astringent effect, this compound was formerly used widely in therapy. The local treatment of thermal burns with tannic acid was suggested by Davidson (1935), and his procedure was generally employed in Hungary during World War II. I t...

Microfluidic extraction of tannic acid from Quercus leaves

In this study, extraction of tannic acid using microchannel was investigated. Affective parameters were optimized. Different solvents including buthanol, ethylacetate and n-hexane as organic phase, methanol, propanol, ethanol and water as aqueous phase investigated. Microchannels with different confluence angles and diameters were examined. Microchannels with different confluence angles and dia...

Tannic Acid in the Treatment of Burns

To ilic Editor, The Indian Medical Gazette. Sir,?During the past few years, tannic acid has come into considerable vogue for the treatment of burns. As House Surgeon in the Sir J. J. Hospital in Bombay in 1927-28 I had to treat many cases of burns, but was unsuccessful with tannic acid. I asked my chief, Mr. S. R. Moolgavkar, f.r.c.s., as to the reason for this, and he gave me the following adv...
